Artist Statement
Tiger Lily Art portrays at times an unusual approach to art. The subject matter is given an interesting and unreal look by application of vibrant and unusual colours resulting in a contemporary look. Quick bold strokes are often loosely applied. Several pieces have an unfinished look leaving the viewer to focus solely on the subject matter. Some of the art pieces contain the original drawing lines allowing the viewer to get a glimpse of the work in progress. “Mistakes” can often make an art piece unique and unusual.
Tiger Lily Art includes works in oils, acrylics, watercolour, chalk, and graphite. Subjects include Big Cats, Wild Life, Whales, Land and Waterscapes, and Still Life. “Emerald Bay” in Lake Tahoe, CA is a favourite subject matter.
